So with the backgrounder out on “Doc” Emrick…. time to let the debate rage as to who is the best announcer out there at the moment.
The main argument is between Emrick and Gary Thorne… but there are plenty of other worthy candidates… so write them in and feel free to comment as to why you voted how you did.
It’s playoff time… and that’s got everybody in a great mood. But for me personally something just seems to be missing. My buddy Chris and I were trying to figure out exactly what that void was… and now we know.
That’s right… Maggie The Monkey.
Sometime over the summer and the regular season it seemed to slip our minds that Maggie had “retired”.
Since Blue Jays fans had started a “Lyle Overbay Moustache Fan Club” a week into the season… there’s got to be more people like myself who are sad to see Overbay lose the stache.
If you watched the first round of “The Masters” yesterday… or read the sports section of any paper… you probably know Tiger Woods shot a 68.
That is the best opening round he’s ever had in his career at Augusta.
His reception from the “peanut gallery” (…and a large one at that) was warm… but nothing too extreme… there are obviously some people who still don’t think he’s quite ready for a return to the sport.
I don’t think anybody should be surprised by Tigers play… he’s an athlete who strives under pressure… and has always enjoyed being in the spotlight… and the spotlight for Tiger has never been bigger.
But one thing that does surprise me… is Tiger’s new Nike ad… featuring the voice of his late father Earl. I won’t go into it too much… but here’s a link to the video… and a poll.
Vote on the poll… and feel free to comment with your thoughts!
Time to “Talk Back”!
SIDE NOTE: Rock 107 Sports Director Jack Miller pointed me towards this link from the Toronto Star… which talks a little bit more about the ad.
Don’t forget to keep checking back… I’ll have UFC picks… and probably something to do with the Blue Jays (2-1 heading into tonight)… while I’m on the morning run tomorrow!!!!!
It’s been an unreal start to the Major League Baseball playoffs… with the NLCS kicking off last night… and the teams down to just four… the debate has started as to who’s going to the World Series. There are a number of different storylines that can come out of the different match ups… so let’s examine shall we?
Scenario 1 – Yankees vs Dodgers
The Yankees (who will more than likely get to the World Series) take on the man who built them… and the Man-Ram who looks to destroy them. No doubt Torre will be a class act and just do what he can to smash his former team… but it’ll be interesting to see how the Yankee faithful respond to him.
Scenerio 2 – Yankees vs Phillies
In this scenerio… we get the heavy favourites against the defending champs. We’d see Cole Hamels match-up with CC or AJ… not to mention the return of Pedro to New York after the legendary Don Zimmer incident. Why does it seem like there’s someone on every team who’s got a problem with the Yankees?
Scenerio 3 – Angels vs Dogers
This becomes the LA vs LA battle… and I think it’d be a good one. Imagine the momentum the Angels could carry through after knocking off the Bronx Bombers? Someone also posed the question to me last night “When was the last time two teams from the same city have played for a major championship?”. That’s really all I see from this one… but it’s my number two pick.
Scenerio 4 – Angels vs Phillies
This would be my least favourite scenerio to play out. Pretty much… the only story I see coming out of this series is the fact the Phillies are trying to repeat. If you disagre… let me know.
So there it is… four different scenarios… and we’ll have to wait a couple weeks to se which one plays out….. time to Talk Back.
Feel free to comment and let the masses know why you voted how you did.
Stay tuned to the F-Files… more to come… maybe even another poll… later today!
Although their pre-season loss to Ottawa last night was ugly… the Belleville Bulls new Jerseys aren’t all that hard on the eyes… take a look.

As you can see…. they’ll stick with the usual vintage logo at home… and the cartoon-ish bull on the road. Only major difference to the black jersey is the addition of stripes on the arm (which I’m a fan of). Overall… they’re not the best in the league… but they’re definitely not the worst.
On a sad note… for most… not myself… the traditional Belleville yellow jersey (seen in the other day’s post) will not be worn this season.( YAAAAAY!!!!) The CHL… much like the NHL did when it introduced Reebok EDGE jerseys… has decided to discontinue the third jerseys for now.
So what do you think of the Bulls’ new look?

I love what London has done with their logo… and there are some awesome looking unis in the “Q”… but some brutal ones there as well (*cough*MONTREAL*cough*).
As Pacman Jones and Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ Immigration Lawyers try to work out a Visa so he can play in the CFL… I’d like to know what you guys think about him coming North of the border.
