UFC Fight Night goes tonight at 8pm on Spike TV… no Head 2 Head for this one… but stay tuned for tomorrow’s post… I’ll put up the picks for UFC 103 on Saturday.
Also tonight The Ultimate Fighter “Heavyweights” begins.
It’s Team Rampage against Team Rashad.. should be a good one. That will follow Fight Night tonight.
Here’s a sneak peak at the first 10 minutes of tonight’s TUF Premiere… courtesy of Spike TV.
So again… 8PM for Fight Night… followed by TUF!!!!
Following the unveiling of the Bulls’ new jerseys… I had a chance to catch up with Bulls equipment manager Matt Sands and ask him a little bit about what we can expect from the overall uniforms this year.
Bulls' Equipment Manager Matt Sands
DF: So what are things going to look like overall…are you going to have all the control on them like (previous equipment manager) Tom Frater did?
MS: I have my ideas and (Head Coach and GM) George Burnett approves of them. I dont try and re-invent the wheel, I go for the simple clean cut look.
DF: Are you doing the same thing with numbers EVERYWHERE?
MS: There are some slight changes you will see a week from Saturday, but I think people will like more of an “old school” look.
DF: Do you want to give us a tease about what we could see… or do you want to keep it all a secret until the 19th?
MS: If I had it my way the entire jersey would have been kept under lock and key until September 19 that way it creates a frenzy. Overall, the whole new look will be sharp compared to sloppy loose fitting jerseys.
DF: What about the gold jerseys? I know a lot of people are wondering what will become of them.
MS: The golds will be making a return next season as well and will look very classy. There’s also going to be a cool, new warm-up jersey we have this season that will rank up there with the Mickey Renaud jerseys from Windsor.
DF: Well we’re looking forward to seeing the new look. Thanks for time Matt… good luck this season.
MS: No problem.
Again… for more on the new jerseys you can check out the Bulls’ Website or the CHL’s new site dedicated to the Reebok EDGE jerseys.
Although their pre-season loss to Ottawa last night was ugly… the Belleville Bulls new Jerseys aren’t all that hard on the eyes… take a look.

As you can see…. they’ll stick with the usual vintage logo at home… and the cartoon-ish bull on the road. Only major difference to the black jersey is the addition of stripes on the arm (which I’m a fan of). Overall… they’re not the best in the league… but they’re definitely not the worst.
On a sad note… for most… not myself… the traditional Belleville yellow jersey (seen in the other day’s post) will not be worn this season.( YAAAAAY!!!!) The CHL… much like the NHL did when it introduced Reebok EDGE jerseys… has decided to discontinue the third jerseys for now.
So what do you think of the Bulls’ new look?

I love what London has done with their logo… and there are some awesome looking unis in the “Q”… but some brutal ones there as well (*cough*MONTREAL*cough*).
Canada has qualified for the World Basketball Championships… and how pumped am I!!!!!!

It’s always great to see our country represented on the World Stage… even if they don’t compete at the top. It’s always nice to cheer for the underdog sometimes.
So congratulations to Leo Rautins and company… inlcuding Aaron Doornekamp who hails from just down the 401.
For more information on the tournament… check out the Basketball Canada website.
Well the battle to bring Mixed Martial Arts to Ontario rages on. The UFC has…. barred from competing in the province by the Ontario Athletic Commission… has enlisted the help of a former Premier to legalize the sport here.
For some background on the issue… check out the MMA Feature I put together for 110% Sports on Loyalist College Radio.
For more on the fact that the UFC is getting help in it’s legalization fight… check this link.
As Pacman Jones and Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ Immigration Lawyers try to work out a Visa so he can play in the CFL… I’d like to know what you guys think about him coming North of the border.
