JD BROWN

I spent my teenage years on a diet of classic rock and pepperettes. Ever since I learned how to play the guitar, I've expanded my musical horizons and have come to appreciate the true guitar heroes; Page, Clapton, Gilmour, Lifeson, Harrison, Rhoads, Hendrix, Van Halen, Vaughan, Knopfler, King, ok... we can do this all night.

I bounced around jobs finding out all the things I DIDN'T want to spend the rest of my life doing. Then a light went on in my head as I drove up and down the endless dirt roads in Northern Ontario and would backsell Zeppelin and Pink Floyd tunes as if I was running a classic rock station from the cab of my '91 Ford Ranger.

A mixture of luck and fate would lead me to the metropolis of Frankford and through the doors of Loyalist College's Radio Broadcasting program. It took a few minutes on the air to realize that I found my calling.

Coming from a small town like Red Rock, I have an appreciation for a tight-knit family run company which is what drew me into Quinte Broadcasting. After bugging the head cheese for any job they could find for me, I was hired to take on many tasks around the radio station. Not that I would consider playing some of the greatest music ever made to be a job... more like a dream come true - minus the Camaro in the driveway. Maybe someday, but I'll settle with this for now.
