A new survey by Go.Compare reveals that 28% of people would support lowering the legal driving age. Other findings: – 46% of people believe learning earlier could help young people become more responsible – 35% of people feeling driving sooner would provide greater independence – 32% of parents think the current system does not adequately prepare young drivers – 36% of people think 18 is the most appropriate age to learn to drive – 34% of parents would be happy for their children to learn before being legally allowed on public roads. 55% of parents would prefer their children to wait until they reach the legal age |
